The Salon Industry makes an impact at Ice Ball 2011 produced by Paul Mitchell the School St. Louis. The Ice Ball 2011 is an alternative hair show with its highly anticipated runway show will invade the Robert’s Orpheum Theater in downtown St. Louis on December 3, 2011.

Entertainment includes an alternative hair show produced by Paul Mitchell the School St Louis featuring Kink Salon, Pure Natur Aveda Salon, the Golden Razor, Jayne Pellegrino|Make-up Artist, and designs by JC Darlynn Designs, Robert Van Dillen, Micah Beck, and Hyper Haute Jewelry. Music and video are provided by Ben Davis of Meridian House Recordings. A runway show featuring an all-star of stylists from local salons will close out the night. “The annual hair show is the largest fundraiser Paul Mitchell the School St Louis produces and we are able to do so only through the generous donations of time and talent by so many artists in our community. As a result, ninety-five percent of all proceeds go directly to our charities,” said Jenn Crane, Design Team and Placement Leader of Paul Mitchell the School St. Louis.
“In our family, we were raised to believe we all have a responsibility to give back and help others. We feel like we’ve found an extended family in Paul Mitchell Schools. From last year’s generous donation (twice the amount you originally promised) to the way you’ve reached out locally to the 170-plus Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals with your love, service, and passion, Paul Mitchell Schools have shown that giving back is not just about raising money.”
— Donny and Marie Osmond,
The fashion industry is constantly changing. Sometimes its hard to keep up when you want to be involved in everything fashion related. Rock Uniform has moved in different directions in its 6 year existence as a company. PR, event management, stylists, back of house management at runway shows, photo shoot management, social media promotions, club promotions and fashion show production. In 2012 Rock Uniform digs deep into fashion show production and designer management & PR. Styling, club promotions and photo shoot directing will only be 20% of the business if it relates to a project or event that we are executing. We want to produce shows! St. Louis, Chicago, Kansas City, Ohio, Nashville…the list goes on of markets that we want to hit next year.
Project:Design! will be marketed strictly in the midwest as the premier designer competition. Changes to Project:Design! include mentor sessions for the top six finalists. More time added to design their collections and better PR management per designer. A designer competition business model will be pitched to other cities as we start reaching out to emerging designers.

Our track record speaks for itself….three designers from Project:Design! have made it to the Project Runway status. Other designers have gone on as costume designers, boutique owners, launching their own lines, fashion bloggers and more. Rock Uniform has never had less than a sold out runway show. Our promotional campaigns are strong and our brands are always changing.

Speaking of designer development we will be pursuing a designer management division of the company. This division will provided designers with an agent that will handle everything but the designing. My (Dwight Carter) background is in music management. Musicians want to write songs and perform not book shows, handle finances, promote and shop labels. The same is with most designers, they want to design collections not hire hair and makeup teams, organize a production staff for a runway show, get their pieces into magazines or handle boutique sales. We will handle all parts or some of the work load for them.

Pins and Needles is another brand that we have been developing as a Rock n Roll runway show that takes place in Spring/Summer. This show we partner with Lucky You Productions and select the seasoned designer for this show.
I am looking forward to building our brands and developing our team in 2012.
