Yes we know the Punk Met Gala is over, but it was honestly one of the best things to happen in such a long time…

While some went with a new age punk look, others took a trip straight down 90’s lane and we have to say, it brought a tear to our eye. Both good, and bad tears.

We took to our Facebook, and these were the looks they showed the most love!

It was a really spectacular night! We were slightly let down by Emma Watson…always so conservative.

*Sigh*

Interview with Designer, Lauren Cram, of Victrola

SF: What sparked your interest in becoming a fashion designer?
LC: Even as a little kid, I was always fantasized by the art of constructing clothing. I was always playing with my Grandma’s scrap fabric of silks and laces, thinking that it was the coolest thing ever. It was in high school that I really started appreciating sewing as I could never really find anything in stores that I really liked. With sewing, a whole new world of infinite options opened up for me.

For as crazy as the MTV awards are supposed to be, the celebs were very reserved in their nature for the ceremony! I was expecting some bold colors, and exciting cuts, seeing as spring is here. Nude, creme, black, and navy dominated the red carpet this year, along with conservative necklines and hemlines. I’d have to say that best style for the night could easily go to Macklemore. At least he wasn’t afraid to welcome spring with some bold  Royal Blue which I have to say goes splendidly with his strawberry blonde hair.

In love.

I know, I know. It’s not even Summer, barely even Spring, and the fashion world has already moved on to Fall 2013. For all you know they could be  moved on to Spring 2014. It feels like you’re always playing “catch up” looking at who came out with what, when.

Confusing can sometimes be an understatement.

In a small attempt to ease some of this chaos, i’m going to showcase one designer a week so you get that little feeling of  being in the know. Or at least, not stuck on McQueen Fall 2010 (but that’d be okay because it was an phenom collection).

Whenever a new season begins, I look towards the two M’s. M&M, if you’d like. Mc Queen and Marchesa.  Marchesa Fall 2013 looks beautiful, intermixing vibrant purples with their deep counterparts. Some steel grey, and even hot red. It all comes together beautifully.  Get excited for Fall 2013, not overwhelmed. It’s easy to do.
